After over a year of global uncertainty, many people are feeling restless. Whether it’s politics, climate change, COVID-19, or all of the above, there’s no shortage of issues to rock the boat right now. And, sometimes the best medicine for unrest is simply changing your appearance. After all, cutting off those long locks or picking a different hairstyle can feel liberating — especially if you’ve been rocking the same look throughout the pandemic. And, where better to look for bold hairstyle inspiration than celebrities?
Celebrities push the envelope with their appearances more often than the general public. When they make a bold hair move with a new cut or style it frequently leads to more press — which in their case, is usually the desired effect. However, with so much public attention, choosing a bold hairstyle can also be an act of rebellion for celebrities who’ve felt boxed into certain looks throughout their careers. As Kate Hudson shared with Harper’s Bazaar after she got a buzz cut, “I didn’t think I’d love it so much. The connection to (my hair) was powerful and I wasn’t prepared for that. It’s so liberating.”
Ready to make your own rebellious hair statement? These brave celebrities have led the way.
