Matt Damon is father of the year after letting his daughters use his hair as an art project while living in Ireland.
The 51-year-old shared the story of how he ended up looking ‘like a rooster’ when his girls dyed his hair maroon and cut it into a mohawk, while appearing on The Tonight Show with best friend Ben Affleck.
Damon revealed that he was wearing the bold hairdo when he decided to drunkenly FaceTime rockstar Bono one night, as well as the mayor of Dalkey, Ireland.
What a look! Matt Damon shared the story of how he ended up looking ‘like a rooster’ when his daughters dyed his hair maroon and cut it into a mohawk, while appearing on The Tonight Show with best friend Ben Affleck
Matt revealed that he was shooting The Last Duel in Ireland when the pandemic hit and production shut down.
Damon said he family took a vote and decided to stay put in a small community called Dalkey near Dublin.
Since they weren’t going to be working on the film anytime soon, the Oscar winner allowed his hair to be a canvas for his daughters Stella, 10, Gia, 12, and Isabella, 15 and Alexia, 22.
‘I had let the kids dye my hair red. It was their art project basically, and it was clear that we weren’t going back to work,’ he told host Jimmy Fallon.

Ben Affleck added: ‘There’s nothing children like more than to humiliate their parents.’
‘Then they decide that I needed a mohawk, so they mohawked me,’ Matt continued. He admitted that the same night he let the girls turn him into an art project, he and his wife Luciana ‘had a few drinks’ and he decided to FaceTime Bono.
‘And that was the night that I FaceTimed him, and [the mayor] was like, “What are you doing?”‘ Damon hilariously recalled.
Host Jimmy Fallon then shows the audience a black-and-white photo of Damon with his mohawk, which the actor asserts was ‘even more ridiculous’ in person.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon poked fun of themselves quite a bit while promoting their latest movie on The Tonight Show.
Jimmy, 47, noted that it had been nearly 25 years since they won Oscars for writing the screenplay the 1997 film Good Will Hunting.
Ben, 49, said he and Matt, 51, made Good Will Hunting so they would have an acting reel to show to casting agents

Jimmy showed them a photo of them from the Good Will Hunting premiere.
‘You wouldn’t imagine that those two idiots would still be around,’ Ben quipped.
‘We wouldn’t have imagined getting another job,’ said Ben, who added that the whole purpose of making the movie was really to have an acting reel to show to casting agents
‘If we can’t get the job (to) show we can do interesting stuff,’ said Ben, who said they just planned to show it to casting directors.
‘That was our ambition,’ said Ben. ‘I think we were shocked that it even got released.’
Wow! 25 years after the success of their first film, Good Will Hunting, Matt and Ben teamed up again for The Last Duel
Matt and Ben were on the NBC talk show to discuss with Jimmy their new movie The Last Duel which comes out this week. Jimmy asked them why it took almost 25 years for them to consider writing another movie together.
‘Good Will Hunting took us so long,’ said Matt. ‘We were unemployed, broke guys. It took us forever to write the screenplay. I think we wrote thousands and thousands of pages. We didn’t really know what we were doing and I think that really put us off writing again cause we never thought we would really have the time.’
Matt said that after all these years of making movies that they found the process this time went a lot quicker. Ben said it also helped that they looped in experienced writer Nicole Holofcener, who appeared with them, to write the female perspective for the movie. Nicole said she got involved with this project when she got an email from Ben.
Ben said he discovered Nicole in 2013 when he was reading the terrible reviews after his movie Daredevil was released.
‘We met because we had movies come out the same weekend,’ said Ben. He said one review for his movie said it was like the worst film ever made. I turned the page and it said “Nicole Holofcener is a modern day Jane Austen (and thought) ” How do I get this?’
He added: ‘I’ve been trying to work with her ever since.’
Nicole said when Ben wrote to her that she thought it was a joke because he emailed her about a medieval movie. Matt then said that he was the one who came across and read the book ‘The Last Duel’ and sent it to Ridley Scott. He said he then showed it to Ben and they both decided to write the screenplay themselves. He said the book is based on a true story of the last sanctioned duel in medieval France. Matt said they asked Nicole to write the female perspective for the movie.
Jimmy also then said that he knew that Matt and Ben were longtime good friends and for proof showed a photo of the two of them at 17 in a photo booth.
‘Those guys clearly have star written all over them,’ said Matt. ‘I think it is the matching pookah necklaces that give it away.
