NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
As always, eyes were on Angelina Jolie last night when she appeared at the premiere of Eternals in Los Angeles.
But the actress added an unusual twist to her glamorous get-up – a striking piece of facial jewellery.
Angelina wore a chin cuff, stretching from her mouth to the bottom of her face – and naturally the bold piece of jewellery has got people talking.
Of course, we’re already familiar with ear cuffs – but the chin version seems to be the lesser-known sibling of statement facial jewellery.
And we could be seeing more of them over the coming months.
The one sported by Angelina was from Austin-based jeweller Nina Berenato and was designed to gently mould to her face and secure inside the mouth – behind the lip.

If want to dip your toe into the trend, fashion experts have shared how you can go about styling it.
‘Chin cuffs are statement pieces – so will often been paired with either minimalistic make-up or very little (or no) other pieces of jewellery – as this piece of facial art will do the taking,’ trend expert Kay Flawless tells Metro.co.uk.
She also stresses that a hairstyle should be be pulled back and shoulders and neckline should be free – to show off the piece.
It can also be enhanced with a strapless or sleeveless dress or top.
Kay adds: ‘Chin cuffs aim at accentuating your facial bone structure and drawing attention to your face.
‘They often suit people with high cheekbones, a long neck and oval face.’

But some experts also believe chin cuffs could become even more popular, as a bold post-pandemic statement.
Wizz Selvey, founder of WIZZ & CO, explains: ‘After almost two years of covering our mouths with masks, an expression and celebration of this area seems apt.
‘From the surge in lipstick sales again to this innovative new face jewellery, Angelina Jolie – with her perfect pout – is an icon to set this trend.’
So stay tuned for more chin cuffs on the horizon.
