When Pete Ricci, CEO of Mantl, first started going bald, he noticed hair on his pillow and in his sink. The emotional response of the balding process, he says, is not unlike the five stages of grief. Ricci became angry, blaming his parents and genetics, before finding a place of peace.
“It was that aha! moment of shaving my head and owning it, instead of hanging on to the idea that my hair will eventually grow back,” he tells Cosmetics Business. “It’s okay to be yourself and to embrace this natural change, and once embraced you actually are much more empowered and confident.”
