Black Americans became business owners at a rate of 38 percent on average from February 2021 through the end of the third quarter. Hispanic business owners increased by 15% within the same time period, while White and Asian business owners decreased by 3% and 2%, respectively. The spike in success was aided by the Great Resignation, which occurred as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
